Summary

SLAtech LTD is an Israeli software development company, operating since 2004. We help owners of apps built with Bolt: we check the database access rules, how keys are stored and how the code is structured, move the project from the browser environment to real infrastructure and keep developing it. The code stays in your GitHub repository. People define the architecture and make the decisions; AI only proposes.

Bolt projects

Your Bolt project is stuck? We will check it, fix it and take it to production

Bolt builds an app right in the browser: you describe the task in words, and minutes later there is a working interface, a Supabase database and publishing on Netlify. The trouble starts later, when real users, payments and personal data arrive. What worked in the in-browser development environment behaves differently on a real server, keys end up in the page code, and every attempt to fix a bug burns tokens and breaks something nearby. We audit Bolt projects, continue their development, or rewrite what is not worth fixing. What we fixed, we stay accountable for.

What Bolt does well

The fastest route from idea to demo. The development environment runs right in the browser; nothing needs installing.

Ordinary code, not a closed format. Bolt builds apps on React and other popular frameworks, and any experienced developer can extend that code.

Ready-made connections. Database and user sign-in through Supabase, publishing to Netlify in one step.

You can take the code with you. The project exports to GitHub or downloads as an archive.

That is why a Bolt project rarely has to be thrown away. More often it is enough to fix the specific places the tool is not responsible for.

Where Bolt projects usually get stuck

A browser instead of a server

Bolt runs the app in an in-browser environment (WebContainers). A real server has different limits, environment variables and network rules, and what worked in the preview breaks after publishing.

Data access rules

If the database is on Supabase, everything rests on row protection rules. They are written for the first version of the product, and once roles and shared records appear, the rules fall behind.

Keys in the page code

Variables with the VITE_ prefix end up in the code every visitor downloads. An AI service or payment key put there can be taken by anyone.

Fixes going in circles

Every attempt to fix a bug burns tokens, and in a big project a new request often breaks a neighbouring feature. There are usually no tests to catch the breakage.

Logic in the browser

Price, limit and permission checks often live in the page code and can be bypassed. They need to move to the server or into the database.

Invisible to search

If the app is built as a single-page app, pages are assembled in the browser after loading. Many search and AI crawlers do not run JavaScript and see an almost empty page. For pages meant to bring in customers, that is critical.

What we check in a Bolt project

1

Access rules for every table: who can read, create, change and delete records, and whether that matches the intent.

2

Keys and secrets: the page code, the GitHub change history, the publishing settings.

3

Preview versus production: how environment variables, the build and network requests differ.

4

Payments and limits: where the decision is made, in the browser or on the server, and whether confirmations come straight from the payment provider.

5

Server functions: whether they check who is calling them and what exactly is sent.

6

User sign-in: email confirmation, password reset, roles and permissions.

7

Third-party libraries: outdated and vulnerable versions.

8

Database queries: what slows down first as the number of users grows.

9

Repository and deployment: branches, tests for the main scenarios, a separate environment for checking.

The result: a written report in plain language, a list of issues ranked by risk, and a plan of fixes.

Three ways forward

Audit

A check against the list above, a written report and a plan of fixes. A fit if you carry on yourself or with your own team.

More about the audit

Continued development

We move the code from Bolt into your GitHub repository if it is not there yet, close the critical issues and keep developing the product. What we fixed and wrote, we are accountable for.

Discuss continuing

Rewriting a part

Most often what needs rewriting is not the interface but what sits beneath it: access rules, payments, server logic. The interface can usually be kept.

Discuss a rewrite

How we choose between these paths is described in detail on the page about helping vibe-coded projects.

How we use AI ourselves

In Bolt, AI builds the app right in the browser from a description in words. We work differently. On client projects, people define the architecture and make the decisions. AI proposes a solution to a task a person has set, and we bring it into the project ourselves, after review. The AI agent gets no access to the code, databases, keys or passwords, and there is not a single line in the code that a person does not know about.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. The audit does not require leaving Bolt: you get a list of fixes and decide who makes them. If we continue the development, from then on we maintain the code, in your repository.

With an export: Bolt lets you push the project to GitHub or download it as an archive. We will help set up a repository in your account, and from that moment the change history is kept.

The Bolt preview runs in an in-browser environment, while the published app runs on a real server. Environment variables, the build and network rules differ. The audit finds these gaps, and we close them.

The bigger the project, the more context the tool needs for each change, and the more often a fix breaks something nearby. At some point it is cheaper for the project to be run by a person who sees it as a whole.

It depends on two things: the size of the project and how far it has drifted, that is, how much in it needs changing and fixing. After the initial assessment we name the scope of work and the price, before any work starts.

We work the same way with projects built on other tools. The general page: help for vibe-coded projects.
